The Genesee Brewery was founded in 1878 in Rochester, New York. The Genesee Brewing Company is America's largest family-operated, regional brewery. While only being sold in half the country, it is ranked as the 7th largest brewery in the United States.
The Brewery is located at 445 St. Paul Street in downtown Rochester, New York. It has one and only one brewery in all of the United States. Hence its slogan One Brewery, One Great Taste. The Genesee Brewery distributes its products to 26 states and 2 Canadian Proviences.
Genesee distributes 8 beers under the Genesee name. Included among these are Genesee Beer, Genny Light, Genny Cream Ale, Genny Bock, Genny 12 Horse Ale, Genny NA (non-alcoholic), Genny Ice, and the newest in the Genesee line-up Genny Red.
Genesee also markets beer under the Shea's Brewery, Dundee's Brewery, and Fred Koch Brewery names. Shea's Brewery brews Michael Shea's Irish Amber, Michael Shea's Black & Tan, and Michael Shea's Blonde Lager. Dundee's Brewery markets one brew called JW Dundee's Honey Brown Lager. The Fred Koch Brewery markets Golden Anniversary Beer, Golden Anniversary Light Beer, and Golden Anniversary Ice Beer.
Portfolio of Brews
Genesee Beer. Fully kraeusened to produce carbonation naturally for a clean, smooth taste, "Genny" is brewed with six-row barley malt, corn grits, hops from the Yakima Valley and Genesee's exclusive botton-fermenting yeast. Genesee Beer was introduced in 1878.
Genny Light Beer. Also naturally carbonated, Genny Light is brewed with both two-row and six-row barley malts to produce a light beer with distinctive taste and character. Genny Light is a true light beer containing 96 calories per 12 ounce serving while delivering a full-bodied beer flavor. Genny Light was introduced in 1978.
